After a long drive from Osaka, we travelled to Shikoku, an island off the south coast of Japan. Seeing splendid views and hopping over a few islands on the way, we took a break at Ritsurin Park before heading to our hostel.
The Ritsurin park was a typical Japanese garden, which was the main attraction in the Takamatsu area. With its hundreds of pine trees, a pond, elegant wooden bridge, stepping stones, masses of waterlillies, it was a fine strolling garden. There were many bugs flying around including Mosquitos, which bite me to shreds as well as friendly tortoises swimming to the edge of the pond to say ‘Hello’. They were so cute.
